Happy St. Patrick's Day

I get my love for celebrating holidays from my mom. This morning I woke up especially early so that I could make a family favorite St. Patrick's Day traditional meal.....Green eggs and ham. Yes I realize that the story has absolutely nothing to do with the Irish, but it was an excuse to dye our eggs green and make the day special. And lucky Brian, who didn't grow up with as many crazy traditions as I did, now gets to participate whether he wants to or not in my holiday celebrations....he got pinched this morning. ;)

I can't wait to go home tonight and make pistachio pudding!!!!!

Happy Pi Day

I love holidays. Give me the most minute or absurd excuse to celebrate, and I will. Today is March 14th or 3/14 or 3.14. Possibly the only exciting day in the world of math, March 14th is a day dedicated to Pi()= 3.14. Without Pi, how would we be able to solve the area of a circle?

So in honor of Pi day, guess what Bri and I made?!?!?! That's right, a PIE. :) It's actually a sweet potato pecan pie. Back in November 2009, I was in an accident and totaled my car. Brian was so great to me. He picked me up, was a shoulder to cry on, brought me dinner, took me to work and babysitting and the tow place and helped me search for a new car. To thank him for saving me, I made him a sweet potato pecan pie. It's now his favorite. :)

Valentine's Day: Just a little late

Lessons learned this Valentine's Day
  1. I have absolutely fallen head over heels for my husband.
  2. I now have a permanent Valentine.
  3. It's a lot harder to surprise your lover when you live in the same place and have joint-checking.
  4. Sometimes its better to stay in.
  5. Life really does have those perfect "Hallmark" moments.
  6. My 6th and 7th graders love me enough to bring me Valentines.
  7. 7th grade is a rough age for finding love.
  8. I'm grateful I'm not in 7th grade.
  9. I love Brian!!!!!!!!
  10. Did I mention that I really love my husband?

This Valentine's Day, I woke up with my hubbie already awake in bed with a present in his hand and most excited smile on his face. He was so proud of the beautiful pearl necklace and bracelet that he gave me from the Shane Co. My husband really does now how to give a girl perfect jewelery! Then he opened his favorite cologne (Armani Code) from yours truly.

What do you do when you are a poor married couple on Valentine's Day? You stay in and make homemade pizzas of course! I couldn't have asked for a better Valentine's Day. :)
